Health Exchange is at the forefront of providing a wealth of health information and services direct to communities in Birmingham. Set up within the Heart of Birmingham Teaching Primary Care Trust in partnership with Birmingham City Council, it is now a thriving social enterprise with community sites across the city. I have done several photography projects and a film which outlines the range of services and sessions provided. The Tackling Obesity Team within the Heart of Birmingham Teaching Primary Care Trust have also developed projects that aim to reach directly into communities. I documented several of the projects that they had set up, including Size Down, Villa Vitality and the excellent programmes that had been made possible through the Healthy Lifestyle Grants. I had a great time heading out to so many exciting community projects, where people of all ages and backgrounds were involved in all manner of fun exercise activities, including gardening, climbing, dancing, badminton and pretty much everything in between!
